The Grand Inquisitors
The Grand Inquisitors are elite clerical warriors of the Spanish Empire equipped with steam-powered mechanical armor, fitted with Toledo steel and sacred artifacts. Blessed by the Holy See, these fanatical remnants of the Inquisition have been given renewed power by the Industrial Revolution and sacred relics from Rome. Sent as a desperate act to quell rebellion, these holy warriors are now tasked with rooting out heretics and filibusters from distant colonies. As the 19th century draws to a close, the Grand Inquisitors find themselves in the midst of a rising conflict against their waning empire that may lead to a revolution.
Production notes:
I always wanted a steam-powered Catholic mecha. I drew on a bunch of references: I think it looks like a cross between a Sazabi, a Guymelef, a Sto Nino statue, and a bunch of motorcycle parts. It has Samus' thighs. Bits of it came out different from what I planned, but I'm fairly happy with it. I don't know If I still want to finish this to the original vision.
The idea was what Jose Rizal's stories might have been like if he also liked giant airships and powered armor.
